Air
Central Scotland is served by three modern international airports:
- Edinburgh Airport – approximately 4 miles, only minutes drive from Riccarton Campus.
- Glasgow Airport – approximately 50 miles west of Riccarton.
- Prestwick Airport – approximately 70 miles from Riccarton.
Regular air services are provided to all major UK cities, and an increasing number of international destinations, with a choice of airlines.
In the case of travel to and from London (Heathrow), a frequent shuttle service with an average flight time of 1hr 15mins provides fast and convenient access to the business centres of Europe, with onward connections to destinations world-wide.
Road
Edinburgh is the hub of an efficient road network. An extensive motorway system makes for ease of access to the rest of the UK and to Europe.
Rail
Scotland is well served by inter-city trains, with services between Edinburgh and Glasgow every 15 minutes during peak business hours. The rail service from Edinburgh to London takes 4½ hours between city centres, with restaurant cars and executive sleeper travel available. The nearest railway station is Curriehill.
